What most corrections actually are
A comment naming Title 24 rarely means the design cannot comply. It usually means the submittal contradicts itself. The window schedule on the drawings lists sizes or performance values that differ from the ones the calculations were run on; the mechanical schedule names a different unit; an assembly was revised after the report was issued. The plan checker is comparing two documents and finding they describe different buildings.
Those are resolved by reissuing the compliance documents against the current drawings. Nothing about the design has to change.
The corrections that need a design decision
A smaller number are real: the design as drawn does not meet the requirement. Glazing area is the usual cause on an ADU, because small floor areas make a large window wall a big proportion of the envelope. Here the useful response is not a resubmittal but a choice — better glazing performance, less glazing, more insulation, or better equipment. Any of those can close the gap, and they cost very different amounts.
What to send
The correction letter itself, in full rather than summarised, and the drawing set as it now stands. The letter matters because plan check comments are often numbered and specific, and answering the exact comment is what clears it. Where the drawings have moved on since the original submittal, say so — that alone explains most mismatches.
