How Long Does the Registry Keep My Title 24 Documents?
At least ten years. An ECC-Provider must keep all information in the original format for a minimum of 10 years, including the signed certificates of compliance, installation and verification for each dwelling that needed verification. Complaint records and quality-assurance field notes are kept at least five.

Ten years for the certificates
Part 1, Section 10-103.3(d)10, sets a minimum of 10 years, and the residential appendix repeats it for all information and approval signatures on the certificates of compliance, installation and verification of every dwelling that needed verification. The word is minimum. The rules do not say what happens in year eleven, so do not count on a copy.
Five years for complaints and audits
Records of complaints, the investigation and the response are held for at least five years from receipt. Detailed quality-assurance field notes on each rater, covering passed, warned and failed audits, also stay five years. These records concern the rater, not your house, so they will not help you find a certificate.
Who can search them
The provider must run a system that lets the Commission search and query documents, rater information and audit data about as freely as the provider can. The Commission can ask for any registered document, and the registry rules give the provider 30 days to answer unless staff grant an extension. Providers must also give the Commission reasonable access to anything submitted within the past 10 years.
A second copy at the Commission
The registry is meant to pass completed documents to a Commission document repository. Part 1 makes that transfer contingent on the Executive Director approving a repository, so check before assuming a state copy exists.
Older and revised documents
A provider is not required to repackage historical information collected before 1 January 2026. Each revision of a registered document is retained, although the data behind obsolete versions need not be.
What to keep yourself
Keep the certificates the builder must leave in the building, and the rater’s report with its registry numbers. If you are selling, selling a house and Title 24 shows what buyers ask for. Frequently Asked Questions
Maybe, but the rule sets a minimum, not a deletion date. Keep your own copy of anything you may need for a sale or refinance.
Only if the document repository has been approved and the registry has transferred it, so ask the provider for your document directly.
